Nancy van de Ven finished second at the Italian Womens Motocross championship event in Faenza. With two second places, she also claimed second overall for the day, and is in the joint lead of the championship standings.
Van de Ven qualified second for the event, and got the holeshot in race one, “My start was good, but a bad line choice cost me a position,” she said. “The track was bone hard and slippery which made it real tricky. I had a worse start in race two, and rounded the first corner in thjrd position. It took me some time to pass into second, and by then, Fontanesi had made her escape.”
Nancy was second overall for the day, and shares the championship lead with Fontanesi. Significantly, they have the same number of race wins and second places.
