International Race Victory For Nancy Van Der Ven

Nancy van der Ven of the No Fear Yamaha team scored a race victory at an international ladies race at Champ Le Duc in France. The event was well attended by several fast ladies, including Larissa Papenmeijer, Amandine Verstappen and Nicky van Wordragen. Van der Ven won the first heat, but  had to retire from the second with a mechanical problem.

Nancy was fastest in both the free – and qualifying training sessions, claiming the pole by a 1.4 second margin.  She converted her favourable gate into a holeshot in race one, and opened up a huge gap. A mechanical issue late in the race gave her some problems, but despite this she cruised to victory.

Nancy had only taken one bike down for the event, and they furiously tried to fix the problem before the second race.  Desptie all the efforts, she noticed that the problem still persisted as soon as the second race started, and she was forced to retire.

Van der Ven is in intensive preparation mode for the third round of the WMX world championship series, which will take place at Loket, Czech Republic on 27 and 28 July.
