Double Victory For Nancy Van Der Ven At Open Dutch Championship Event

Nancy van der Ven of Ghidinelli racing came out victorious in both heats of the Open Dutch Championship Women’s motocross championship opener. On the heavy sand track of Boekel she rode to untroubled victories and took the championship lead home with her.

The women’s class was the first to go out for training during Sunday’s races. The track was still quick and smooth then, with little to differentiate the riders. Despite this, Nancy still showed her class, claiming pole position with a large margin.

Nancy blasted off the line in race one, and was not challenged throughout the remainder of the heat. She claimed the flag and the maximum points tally after what appeared to the onlooker to be an easy ride. On a very heavy track, Nancy repeated the feat in race two. By now the deep ruts and bumps that had formed clearly separated the riders according to ability, and she had no trouble at all in opening up a huge gap at the lead.

Nancy is now the championship leader. She will continue her international racing exploits next weekend with the second round of the Italian Women’s championship series.
