Nancy Van Der Ven Secures Second Position in Final WMX Standings

Nancy van der Ven of the No Fear Yamaha team secured second position in the final standings of the 2019  women’s  motocross world championships.  Van der Ven finished third in the final round of the series in Turkey, and in so doing had done enough to secure second spot in the final standings.

Van der Ven started the weekend with a small points deficit to Larissa Papenmeijer, and knew that she had to finish ahead of the German to move up to second in the standings.

The stifling heat in Turkey made for difficult conditions. Van der Ven finished third in the first race, and with Papenmeijer only managing to get home in eighth position, Van der Ven had already advanced to second on the world championship ladder.

Another third place finish in the final race was enough to take second position in the championships, the second year in succession that she achieved this feat. With a new contract secure in her pocket, she is determined to go for the title in 2020.
